To whom it may concern:
I am writing on behalf of “The Gift of Giving”.
This is a contribution to our community that we started last
year 2008 to feed the needy on Christmas Eve.
As local Hampton
Falls business owners we
feel the need to give back to the surrounding communities and this is our way.
We cooked and served meals for 250-300 hungry men women and
children last year at the old Seabrook fire station on route 286, and donated
the leftovers to Our Neighbors Table who feed the delicious holiday leftovers
to over 200 people on New Years Eve.
We have already arranged to provide them and other soup
kitchens with the leftovers this year.
Nothing will go to waste.
We are asking for the following items to be donated in
whatever volume you can.
Later on in the month we will ask the over 75 volunteers to
contribute what is missing. from the meal.
We aim to feed over 500 people this year and would live to
coordinate with the four local supermarkets our needs so we don’t end up with
the same items from each store or contributer.
The items needed are as follows:
- Appetizer
items (cheese and crackers, veggies and dip, anything)
- Ham
- soda/water
- Gravy
- Butter
- Cream
- Caned
green beans
- Onion
toppers
- Baked
beans
- Salad
stuff
- Dressing
- Coffee
- Paper
and plastic goods
- Napkins
- New
unwrapped gifts for 12 and under
- New
coats, hats and mittens (unwrapped)
- Extension
cords, trash bags, 3 prong adaptors, multi plug adaptors, christmas
decorations, music
Also needed are people to help take away trash after the
event 8 PM or so and help transport other items back to the Butcher Shop
afterwards (pickup truck required).
We could also use someone who can transport the leftovers to
Our Neighbors Table in Amesbury Ma. after the event.
Finally, we need storage space to put leftover items and
decorations until next years event.
